I have made many, many cakes. Ususally I use the WASC recipe. Someone asked me to make a 1/2 sheet cake, which I know takesw the entire WASC recipe. Someone mentioned that I need to put in a heat core. She suggested I use 2 flower nails turned upside doen in the pan, spreayed very well. When I called my local cake shop, they said I shouldn't need a heat core in a 1/2 sheet cake. Does anyone have any ideas, I need to make this cake for Friday?! Thanks a lot.

I have made 100s of 12x16x2 sheets w/o using anything. It doesn't hurt to use one or two flower nails but a heat core is totally UNnecessary! Anyhooo that's just my humble opinion.
