I have a bridal shower cake due this Saturday. The bride wants a hot pink "gift" cake with black polka dots and a black bow. So, 4 weeks ago, I ordered a 2 lb tub of black fondant from the only cake supply store in town. Still not in! I have been calling for the past week to see why its taking so long, and they can't give me an answer. When I asked the girl at the shop for suggestions, she told me to go to Michaels and buy the 4 pack of wilton skin tone...it has black in it. I'll have to buy 2, maybe three of these packages to have enought black! My question is this...Will it work if I mix the dark brown in with the black to give me more fondant to work with? I can add some black gel color to keep it's color. I just don't know what to do, because I need to cut the loops for the bow to be drying! Any advice???

Yes, it's a lot easier to get black if you start with dark brown.
