Want to use almond cream cheese pound cake for DS's birthday cake. Planning to use strawberry filling.
I know that a whipped bc would be good with it (think strawberry shortcake) but need a stiffer icing that will color & pipe well so I am considering using the wedding-crusting cream cheese icing recipe submitted by aztomcat.
My question is ...will using cream cheese frosting on a cake that contains cream cheese be too much? WWYD?
For anyone who would NOT use the crm cheese frosting...which whipped bc recipe would you use?

Naw....... as I remember the cm ch flavor isn't the much in the b'cream.

As far as I can remember the pound cake doesn't have a distinct cream cheese flavor either...just adds richness.
Will update after this weekend with the results...my family & DH's will be here for the party and neither is afraid to voice their opinions!
