I live in a small town, and I donated a cake for a cake auction to support our local woman's shelter and pregnancy support center. I found out on kind of short notice, and decided to try making a watering can - then found out they were looking for a Valentine's theme, so I kind of made it fit... I wasn't thrilled with my cake due to some technical difficulties I had, but it was OK. It was my "Butterfly Kisses" cake in my photos.
Well, the cake made $175 for the charity. There were more than 50 cakes, and mine was in the top 3 for donations earned! I am so happy, it really made my day to find that out!
That's terrific!!!!! It was a beautiful cake, and it's so great that you did that for a shelter/pregnancy charity. We women need to stick together!
My curious tummy want to know . . . what flavor cake was it?
JGMB: I made cocoa fudge cake with oreo cream filling. Plain old buttercream on the outside with fondant accents...
Chutzpah - I almost didn't recognize you in your "new clothes", LOL!
You should be proud of yourself, and proud of the example you've set for others. Great job!
The combination of the watering can and Valentines day came together beautiful for you. Your colours look great.
Very pretty indeed and congratulations for being in the top 3.
