I'm making a cake for a little boy thats allergic to milk. I need a tasty frosting recipe that can be colored and made with any milk or milk products.

I think Sugarshack's recipe is milk free. She uses coffee creamer, but you can use the powdered non-dairy kind.

Wilton's basic "buttercream" doesn't contain milk. It's vegetable shortening, powdered sugar, flavorings, and water.

2 cups vegetable shortening
8 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp each butter flavoring and vanilla extract
water

Whip the shortening and then beat in powdered sugar 1 cup at a time.
Add flavorings.
Beat in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until frosting is desired consistency.
