Hello CC!

Does anyone have a price guide? I looked everywhere here and I can't find anything on pricing, cost, charge, nothing! I think it may be an error. SO now i have to ask! How do you figure out the price of your cake?
I thought I would attach the picture of the cake I am needing pricing on(only it will be 2 tiers NOT 3!! And I am thinking on the smaller side....to feed about 40 people or so.. I really have NO idea.....so any ball park would be great!! ANY ballpark!! lol thanks so much!!

just giving you a "bump".

That is a beautiful cake. There are some price matrixes in the cake dec business thread (I believe) at the top of the page. Those should help you calculate cost, etc. Price per serving, etc depending on what you want to make.

First thing you have to know is how many people the cake will feed. Here are a couple of charts:

http://www.wilton.com/wedding/wedding-cakes/wedding-cake-data.cfm
Most wedding venues cut by this chart.

http://www.earlenescakes.com/ckserchart.htm
Many CC'ers use this chart. The pieces are about 50% bigger than the Wilton chart (so I'd recommend pricing accordingly ... if they are getting 50% more cake per serving, they should be paying more).

Many have a base price for buttercream with an upcharge for fondant. Some charge the same for both, and I believe at least one CC'er has said she charges more for buttercream because she'd rather do fondant! icon_lol.gif
