I just finished my first photo cake. I am pleased with the way it looks!!
I was expecting the icing sheet to 'melt into' the buttercream on top, though, and it appears to have a leathery or firmer surface where the picture is. Is this normal, or did I screw up?
The buttercream was fairly soft, and I also smeared a little piping gel on the top of the cake, prior to laying the photo, just to ensure it would adhere correctly...
Thoughts?
