Hi Everyone,

I am delivering a wedding cake today and the cake will have fresh green orchids, place through out the 4 tiers.

I know that can be put on the cake but...... Do I need to cover the stems from touching the cake? How long will a orchid bloom last with out water?
It's a cold, rainy day here in California, so I'm not worried about the heaticon_smile.gif.

I'm sure everyone is very busy today, it being Valentines Day icon_smile.gif!

I hope someone will be able to answer my questions.
I would greatly appreciate every ones information if possibleicon_smile.gif.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY CAKECENTRAL icon_smile.gif !!!

Thank you for your time,
Crista

Sorry you didn't get an answer when you needed it but just in case you do this again. Orchids will last quite a while without water, longer than a lot of flowers. I like to have the orchid in a small glass water vessel, ask at a florist, often orchids come alrready in these. Make sure it is clean and then just push it into the cake so it doesn't show, if a bit of the top shows you can always pipe some icing around it or use leaves. If this doesn't work because of the cake design then just lay them on the cake without anything on the stem, after all orchids are an edible flower.
