Some Pillow Cake Questions, Please Help!

I am making my first pillow cake for my Mom's birthday. The party is on Sunday. I have tried this new recipe for lemon cake, lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream and it is just wonderful. I have the cake's frozen and the filling and frosting in the fridge. I wanted to avoid assembly on Saturday because it's Valentines day and I'll be busy. So, I was needing to know if I could assemble tomorrow (Friday)? This is the first time using a filling besides frosting. Will it get soggy if it sits between the cakes that long in the fridge til Sunday?

One more question, for you pros who've done pillow cakes, I'm just curious how you get that wrinkled look where the buttons get pushed into the top of the pillow?
I saw the instructions on how to do a pillow cake, so i'm pretty confident, but any advice you have for me trying this new type of design would be great. Thanks!!
