has anyone used salted butter, when making this fondant, I was just about to make a batch and only have salted butter
I just made my first batch so I havent rolled it and place on a cake yet but I used salted and skipped the dash of salt. It's so yummy!

I always use salted butter and like shell62995 I don't add the salt. I have never had any problems. I love Michelle's fondant. Its the only recipe I ever use.
I always use salted butter and I add a tsp. of salt on top of that. It kills the sweetness and let's the vanilla flavor come through better, in my opinion.
(I add it when heating the gelatin so it'll dissolve)
