Ok..I am looking for a good white/vanilla cake recipe that is moist and fluffy. Does anyone have one or know of one. My wedding cake was actually from publix and it was one of the best cakes I have had in a long time...I am looking for a recipe like that. It's for a shower and a birthday. Thanks!! icon_biggrin.gif

Get a box of cake mix. Bake it. Done..You have a Publix cake.

Straight box mixes are the lightest and fluffiest and closest to Publix type cakes.

Check the recipe section for WASC--it is a nice doctored mix--however I recommed adding some baking powder or using self-rising flour otherwise it's kinda heavy.

Scratch cakes are by nature less light and fluffy.

Google Sylvia Weinstock yellow cake (it comes out white) is excellent. I use half the yolks and do not whip whites & yolks separate because I think one of the mortal sins of scratch cake is if egg white can be detected in the final product. Sylvia's cake is lovely.

White cake thoughts for you.
