i'm curious about the Flickr site.
i've noticed a lot of cake pics on there and i was wondering if anyone uses it instead of a paid website to display their work to potential customers?

i'm trying to get my pics up on the web somehow so that people have somewhere to see my work but i'm not sure if i'm ready to pay for a site yet.

any info is so very appreciated. thanks!

I use flicker so I could put a slide show in my web page and a pictobrowser.

I use it as a supplemental to my biz site.

For those who are unaware, Flickr was designed as a photographer site so it's set up to hold a lot of photos. It can be used free, up to a certain volume. I think I had close to 200 photos on there before I got the "you have reached the max" notification, and then it only cost me $25/year.

I have a link on my biz website that basically says "Click here to see lots more pics of cakes!"

I use flickr too. I am still working on my website so it's nice to have a place like flickr to send people to look at cake pics.

Plus, there's some amazing cake artists on flickr!!

I have pictures on Flickr. It's free and it's easy to upload pictures. I don't have a website, so it's a place I can send people to see my work.

You may already be aware of this, but I don't think you can put any sort of pricing on Flickr. I didn't know and they sent me a message and told me I needed to take them off or they would take my site down.

Just so you know...

But other than that I love it for storing pictures.

I have all mine on there, too. I don't really use it for anything, I just think its fun to have a photo site.

I have a Flikr account, but my friends won't look at my cakes because they are too lazy to sign up for an account. Is there anyway you can view pictures without them signing up for an account?

Are you loading your pics for private view only? Mine are loaded for public view, which means no account is needed to view the pics.

I use flickr in addition to my actual website as well. It's good for generating traffic to your website/blog, just add your url with every picture you upload.

I was also really good during the time when I didnt have my website up and running... I used to send people to flickr...
