Hi,

I'm looking for ideas to decorate a last minute cake. I always ice them with buttercream, do a border and pipe something with ganache or chocolate. I'd like to hear (and see!) what do you do to decorate a beautiful last minute cake.

Thank you!!

i usually just decorate general cakes (the kind i make when i just want to eat cake!) with little blossoms cut out of fondant, silver balls, sprinkles, stars, a piped message.
my dads birthday cake was really easy, glace icing and fondant presents, http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1291078.
and cupcakes look suddenly fancy when you stick some wires out of them http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1300352

That's a great idea brinces_b. I've just found one of those in the gallery http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1310019.

I've also seen them with kitkats.

Thank you very much!

Since I decorate with buttercream only...all of my cakes are last minute cakes....under 30 minutes for any of them, once the cake is baked, icing is made, colors mixed.
