Does anyone have a recipe for Red Velvet Cookies? Our local grocery store actually has some that taste good but I am sure someone here can point me to a delicious recipe.

TIA!

I did a google search and found one at Food Network that looks good. They are red velvet sandwich cookies.

I have never herd of this, but maybe you could modify a sugar cookie recipe. Add a few tablespoons of cocoa powder, a few tablespoons of buttermilk in place of some butter, red coloring?

I would take any cake mix cookie recipe and use a red velvet cake mix. Drizzle the top with cream cheese icing.

Add chocolate chips .....

pecans.....

(wipe drool from corner of mouth)......

Bakerella currently has a recipe on her blog for these. I am thinking about making them for my son's class instead of the regular old cupcakes and cookies. I just don't know how Kindergarteners feel about a cream cheese based filling. maybe I could fill them with something else. I am going to cut the heart shapes out like she has on the website.
