I am wrapping a cakes sides with fondant and I have not had good luck smoothing a seam when it comes to fondant. Can anyone help me with my troubles???
I found this thread for you on CC. It should help answer swom questions you have! And to tell you the truth it answered some I had too! So thanks for that! lol. Hope it helps!
Thank you so much for your help!!
In my experience, when bringing two pieces of fondant together, rather than overlapping, then trimming, which leaves an ugly seam, I have much better luck sandwiching the excess fondant from both ends together.
Then, with a pair of scissors, cut off the excess. The act of cutting helps to 'glue' the two pieces together. The resulting seam is much neater looking and easier to smooth with your finger. It will still be visible, but less obvious.
