who came up with it? I was just wondering because I keep seeing so many different ones.
1. So who came up with the original one?
2. Which recipe is the original?
3. Which is everybody's favorite?

I would love to see all the responses, and get as much input as possible!

Thanks so much!

I've always used the one by Rebecca Sutterby. I've yet to make a lemon WASC and am anxiously waiting to get some response from my recent post about it.

Can't help you w/ question #1 or #2.

Check out this post

Looks like Kakeladi is the originator of the recipe, and the original is posted in this thread. She gave the recipe to Rebecca, and Rebecca made a few modifications which ae also either posted or referenced.

i recently made it and oops'd and used one lemon cake mix and one white, and it came out amazing!!! It was very mild and moist. I didnt frost it right away, and wound up not frosting it at all... it was gone in a matter of 2 days. DH loves cake... my thighs, not so much. thumbs_up.gif

okay, like 10 years ago, I spent an entire Summer testing white cake recipes. I ended up combining one from "kakeladi" (which she mentioned she got from another decorator who had retired), and elements of another recipe (which I can't recall the origins of any more) and naming it the "White Almond Sour Cream". I shared the recipe on the old "pink palace" board and it spread from there.

I have used this recipe (and shared it on many boards) for over 20 years! Yes, it was one I 'tweeked' *slightly* from a recipe I got from a lady who had retired some 20 yrs before she gave it me.

ok wow..thank you so much!
I have yet to try it because I see so many variations
I get overwlemed, I guess I will just have to search for Kakeladies
and try it. Then tweak it to my preferance IF needed icon_wink.gif
I have a feeling i'm going to like it just fine though.
Thanks again ladies!
