Ok, I may be crazy but I am entering the Oaklahoma show this year.

I have a few quesitions.

At what point in time do they post info on the web about the theme? I saw the "Of sea and Shore"............ which I must admit is maiking my decisions much more diffucult.

Is there a secondary contest like in the past that I have not seen?

I have seen notes about using "flower picks" . If you must stick flowers into the cake. What are those, where do they come from and does it take off points?

If anyone has links about this topic I could use those too please.

Check out this link:

They have rules and entry forms for both the Grand National Wedding Cake comp, and the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show.

Of Sea and Shore is the wedding one....the OSSAS is a divisional competiton with no overall theme.

FLower picks are little plastic doodads that you stick into the cake so that you can stick your flowers in there. They don't like you sticking flowers or wires directly into the cake....health hazard, so they don't allow it at the competition, either. You can get them in the floral dept of some craft stores, or from Wilton.
