I have two questions please about the pretty frosting swirls on top of cupcakes. I tried making some over the weekend and they were very sad looking!

1. What tip is best to use?

2. Do you start the swirl from the center and go out or from the edge and work toward the center?

Any other tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!!

Wilton's website has an instruction page for making swirls on cupcakes:

I use the tip and technique described in archanac's link and love how my cupcakes turn out. To make sure that this is the look you're thinking of, I have a couple of pictures posted of cupcakes I've done with this tip and method. I've found that it's really easy and looks very professional. Good luck!
