Hi everyone. I am making my DD's 2nd bday cake this weekend. I just got my 3D pooh pan in the mail and can't wait to get started. However, I am not completely sold on the way they look when you frost them as Wilton recommends. They always look kind of mushy to me when they are frosted with the tip, like pooh bear is melting. I was thinking about trying fondant, either dyed in seperate sections or painted. Has anyone done this before? Any advice? I have never used fondant on a shaped cake only regular square and rounds.

Hi I have used fondant twice to decorate my 3D Poohs. I was happier with the result the second time. I covered the parts of the cake in stages. Here's a link to the photo.

Thanks for the picture. I have time to try it early in the week on a practice cake and if I don't like it then I will make a new one and frost it, I think.
