I have to make a wedding cake that on the website it came from says it has "Shiny Disco Dots" on the sides. What in the world are disco dots and are they made or bought? If they are bought where do you buy them and if you make them, how in the world do you do it??

There is a product called disco dust, sometimes pixie dust. It is a very fine iridescent sparkly glitter. The decorator probably made dots out of fondant, then brushed this dust on them to make them sparkle, then applied them to the buttercream.
