I believe cream cheese is perishable and should be refrigerated. form what if read it can be only left out on the counter for max of 2 hours If unrefrigerated it promotes growth of bacteria and mold.
hope this helps thumbs_up.gif

I made some cupcakes with cream cheese frosting a couple weeks ago around 9pm and left them on the counter until about 8am not realizing DUH this is cream cheese I just used! I rushed to google whether it was okay or not and many sites said it would be just fine as long as its a decent room temp (we were at 69-70 degrees). I did put them in the fridge just to be safe but I also read they'd be fine left out for 24 hours or more.
