Hello everyone!

I've tried several times to use my extruder with gumpaste (made with MF's fondant + tylose powder) but it is too hard. Sometimes I microwave the paste and it comes out right for about 20 seconds. After that the sugarpaste is really hard and doesn't come out right.
This is the extruder I have: http://www.cakejournal.com/uploaded_images/billeder-cj008-702365.JPG

What do you do to get those nice stripes and ropes?

Thanks for your help!

That's the same one I have. I add crisco to my fondant to make it softer and it comes out easily.

What I do is I get a little bit of crisco (just the crisco) and pass though the extruder and the start using it with fondant when you see it start sticking again I do it again and it works good for me thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

I hope this can help you icon_smile.gif

I have that same extruder (love it) and I add a bit of solid crisco to my fondant and then after I have my little log rolled I grease up the outside of it before sticking it into the extruder. Works perfect every time.
I use Michelle Fosters recipe as well. icon_smile.gif

I have the same one and have found the same problem you do. I've tried adding crisco and it helps but I'm hoping greasing the inside of the tube will help. Can't wait to try that idea.
