I made a navy blue buttercream icing and yellow buttercream icing yesterday for my son's bday cake which I'm making tomorrow and white dots keep magically appearing in the icing. I keep stirring it and they disappear only to magically reappear. I did notice this morning that there were not as many of them so perhaps its not mix well enough?
I don't want to remake it so anything that will help me fix it would be appreciated! Thanks!
Keep beating the mixture. Sounds like they are just balls of icing sugar.
Did you sift the sugar before hand?
This is really a mystery that hasn't ever been solved.
Many people think it's undissolved salt. But I have heard from people who say they didn't add any salt to the recipe.
