I have a bride who is interested in a red velvet wedding cake. But she is really concerned about bleeding through. I've never tried that kind of cake before. What is everyones thoughts? Is there a problem with bleeding through?

Thanks

Missy

Nope! My very first ever wedding cake was RV w/ cream cheese icing. I've NEVER had a RV cake bleed through. If you want to stick with a BC for the outside, try white chocolate IMBC.

Here's my RV cake recipe. ALWAYS gets great reviews and doubles well for those large tiers.

I too have never had an issue with Red Velvet cake bleeding through, and I've used both regular bc and cream cheese bc! I did a Christmas cake and New Years cake both red velvet for my sister and saw the leftovers in her fridge about a week later and the color still hadn't come through the bc!

Thank you so much!

Does the cream cheese bc have to be refrigerated?
