HELLO CAKE DECORATORS,FIRST OFF I HAVE A CLIENT WHO WANTS A 60'S GANGSTER HAT I HAVE NO IDEA WERE TO START ANY PHOTOS PRICING INFORMATION IS NEEDEDAND ANY INSTRUCTIONS THE COLORS ARE BLACK,SILVER,GOLD.THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE IN ADVANCE

Did you try googleing the subject to at least get a picture? That would be your best start. I wish I could help more but I am to new at this to give cake shapeing advice!

ok, when i searched the hat thing, i got the image below, which looks fairly easy....

i would use, depending on the size they want, 2 or 3 oval pans, and stack and fill them, they carve the top indent out, carve the front indents out and just sharpen the oval shape a little to give it a nice hat look, for the bottom i would just use the board and cover it in fondant, so it would look like it was just sitting on the table... and then add the ribbon and whatnot.... HTH?

You can also type in a YAHOO search , Fedoras. This will give you an array of hats to look at.
