I am making a 1/4 sheet chocolate birthday cake. Generally I use sour cream, or yogurt in my wasc cakes to make for more batter. I was in a hurry at the store as we are under a winder storm warning and forgot to get either. Ccers I am in desperate need of a chocolate cake mix docter recipe for a 9x13 cake. Needs to be made tonight. Thanks in advance.

I think you can use sour milk-- add a smidge of vinegar or lemon juice to the milk stir and add quickly.

do you have buttermilk or vinegar? if you dont have buttermilk, make some: 1 cup milk w/ 1 tb vinegar, let stand 5 minutes then use in your recipe. (use the measurements your recipe calls for)

I can't help with a cake-mix recipe but if you're happy to make one from scratch, try the chocolate layer cake (in CC recipe section). It's easy, makes heaps of batter and is yummy!

HTH, good luck icon_smile.gif
