Were These Flowers Piped?

A bride has fallen in love with this cake from Gateaux Cakes and has planned her reception around it. At first I thought the flowers were from a fondant mold, but after looking closely, do you think these were piped with royal icing? If so, this cake may be beyond me, intricate piping like this is not my forte thumbsdown.gif Any ideas? Thanks!!

It looks like they are brush embroidery. You pipe the flower then use a brush (like a paint brush) to pull the icing toward the center so it looks like embroidery.

yes it looks like brush embroidery.. even if is not your forte go for it..you could do it
