First I want to say I missed everyone so much, I was down and out since Thursday with a tonsillar abscess!!! Now I feel better and this is the first thing I'm doing!! A friend of mine wants his birthday cake kinda like a black forest but caramel also??? I know that he would like SMBC better than ABC. Would chocolate cake with caramel filling iced with cherry flavoured SMBC go together??? Thanx for any thoughts!
What about making the cake as a regular black forest, but make a caramel syrup for people to put on their slice, if they so choose? That way, he has the cake he wants and others can choose one of two flavor combos. Just a thought. A woman at my work made a chocolate cake with a coconut bc. She made a caramel syrup and put it in a cute little container. I have to say, I preferred it without...everyone was split down the middle about adding it. lol
That certainly sounds like a good idea, I've never made a very good caramel filling, it's always like a sauce anyway! Thanx
