Why are gumpaste flowers so breakable? Is there any way to make them so they are not so fragile. I'm so upset because I just broke two flowers that I made in class. Thanks!

Some gumpastes make mrs brittle flowers than others. For me, the Wilton & CK gumpaste were extremely brittle.

Learning how to handle finished flowers is about the only I know to prevent breakage. I broke many, many flowers before I learned how to handle them better. I still break some though.

I know this is not what you wanted. Sorry

Michele

They are a bit stronger if you add a bit of fondant to the mix, although they will take longer to dry.
