Strawberry Flavoring

I'm making my brother in laws wedding cake.. And the bride asked me to make just a strawberry flavored buttercream for the filling.. And to be honest, I havnt used anything besides the standard vanilla for my BC! Can I just substitute the strawberry for the vanilla? or does it require more tsps? I have no idea..... TIA!!!

I haven't done it in a while but I think you just substitute the strawberry for the vanilla. I would make some ahead of time and try it out first. That way you know for sure if it's going to taste good.

I did it last year for my niece's Hannah Montana cake. I used Lorann oils. It's very concentrated, so you only use a very small amount.
It was 1/4 teaspoon for a 3 cup yield icing recipe.

By the way, it really tasted good.

For a wedding cake, you're going to need quite a bit of extract.

I'd recommend www.nationalflavors.com (Wholesale prices but sell the the public.)

Or you might want to try icing fruit (which come in a range of flavors).
