I've never made the WBH house BC before. It seems to have a lot of shortening in it. Is it possible to make it with less shortening and more butter? Thanks!

I have made it with equal parts butter and shortening and it turned out great. Though, the shortening I use is a brand available in Australia only so I suggest you try a small-batch experiment.

Well, if you do that, it won't be WBH buttercream anymore....
(It'll be almost WBH buttercream.

Why not make 1/2 or less of the recipe and see what it tastes like as written. Then if you don't like it you can start experimenting.

Otherwise, you can't compare your results to other members WBH b/c reviews because you didn't make the same recipe.
