Here are the WINNER's from the 2008 TD's that were thrown. They are competing against each other (as are the losers) to see who wins this challenge to move on to the Ultimate TD Championship (compete's agains the winner of the LOSER's team)

Our contestants today are: PinkLesley (Lesley); Stephaniescakenj (Stephanie); Jillmakescakes (Jill); and Mariu (Mary). Photos are in no particular orders....

Waverly Fabric Pattern: My entry is a three tiered hexagon cake (sizes 12, 9 & 6) and based on two patterns of tropical waverly fabric. The stripes on the top and bottom tiers are handpainted with luster dust, all the piping is done in royal icing and then painted with luster dust. First picture includes inspiration for her cake.

Philadelphia Mummer's Parade: It was an Arab costume and I personally loved the colors and style, a little difficult to transform perfectly into a cake but this is my version. The colors in the fotograph are much darker than in person but I had a great time makin this cake. Cakes were WASC with BC filling. Painted on the fondant with foodcoloring and pearldust. Crushed Life-Savers for the gems and gold flake dust used for decoration.

Bridal Gown: no description given. 1st photo was our decorator's inspiration for her cake.

Three tier angular cut cake: Three tier chocolate fudge cake with chocolate buttercreme. Sides of top two tiers of the cake were tappered down to create the angled look. Top tier was also cut topsy turvy, while the bottom tier remained square. Homemade MMF dyed an icy blue for the background. Tiles also made of homemade MMF tinted multiple shades of teals, aquas, blues, greens, and purple. Accent pieces (rods) are made with the same fondant. Cake was then airbushed with pearl, and some accent color was added with blue and pearl airbrush as well. Inspiration was a picture from an unknown photographer that I have had hanging in my office for years.

Good luck everyone! You all did an amazing job capturing your inpiration. What a really cool theme!!!

They all look like winners to me. Too bad we can't vote for placing, too, but picking any as the best is hard enough, so I guess that's a good thing.

Good luck, everyone!

I would love to vote, but I don't get any images. All I get is the word "image" where a pic should be. Sorry.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I think I like looking at challenge photos the best because we truly see a unique design, not just designs inspired by cakes we've seen over and over.
