I cover my "dummy" foam cakes in butter creme first just as if it were a regular cake, then the fondant.Good luck icon_smile.gif

I've also read that you can use a light layer of shortening.

so a spray of water should do the trick?

you can ... but why waste it... water works just fine...

or if you want make some fondant or gumpaste glue... take some fondant/gumpaste put into a cup with water and pop in the microwave ... mix till ur arm falls off,,,, tada... gumpaste glue...

yes and unlike buttercreme, since it is just water and fondant it will keep forever...
