I do not have a sports pan and I need a tennis ball on top of a cake for Friday night. I also live in a very small town and the nearest place to get things like this is an hour away. I am a teacher so I can not just leave to go. How can I make a ball without a pan? HELP!!! icon_cry.gif

Do you have a small pyrex bowl? You could bake each 1/2 of the tennis ball in that, sandwich them together with icing, and may need to do a bit of carving to get it perfectly round, but that should get you close.

Not sure how big you need your tennis ball to be, but you could always just bake regular rounds and carve your ball. If you're doing a 6", you'd need about 2-3 layers of cake. The bigger in diameter you want your ball, the more layers you would need to add, to keep it proportionate. Good luck!
