I have seen recipes for gumpaste with tylose in, can I add it to fondant to get it to dry harder?

Yes you can. Add 1/2 a teaspoon of tylose to 250g of fondant. icon_smile.gif Or you can mix 50/50 store bought gumpaste and fondant too!

I never use bought gumpaste, I prefer tylose powder. You can add it to home-made fondant.

Thanks! I come from South Africa, so most of the products that get referred to I have never heard of! Anyway, I buy my fondant, so can I add Tylose to that?

Sure, just the amount bashini said. You sprinkle the tylose powder in your work surface and knead your fondant over it until it's fully incorporated. Don't forget to cover your sugarpaste with cling film to avoid it getting hard.
You can find the recipes for Michelle Foster's fondant and for MMF (marshmallow fondant) in the recipe section of this site.

I have tried using MMF mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with gumpast. It slouched on me. I also tried MMF with tylose powder. Had the same problem. Are my hands too hot. Am I doing something wrong? I had some ask me to make a cake of figurines for their daughters bday. I need advice.
