I am going to be using the wilton floating tier cake stand and was wondering if I have to use a cake board for the cake or can I just put them directly onto the separator plates that it comes with.

You can put cakes right on the plate, but it is better to put them on a board. The plates can get really messed up from people cutting on them and if you have leftovers it's easier to send it home on a board than on your plates.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think about the leftovers!! I guess I'll be using the cake boards. Thanks again.
