In general.... are cake stands provided by the cake decorator....or by the venue....or...?

I have never had a request for a cake stand...however I don't do alot of wedding cakes yet (unfortunately...working hard on changing that!)

Just curious if I should invest in a stand to rent out.

From my experience, most of the time the cake designer/decorator provides the cake stand if one is wanted. I usually make my brides put a deposit down on the equipment, but I have mostly seen the decorators rent them out.

Most of my brides want them...I charge @25 rental plus a deposit of whatever it cost me, usually 130-150.

I have a reccomendation though... if you buy get a 16" first. I bought 2 14" and I rarely use them.

Also, catererswarehouse has great ones, but sometimes it takes a longtime for them to get them in. And sav on crafts sent me 2 HORRIBLE ones and I had to argue with them forever to get my money refunded. They did not seem to get that no refunds doesn't apply if they send you a damaged product!
