Very much a newbie here. I have completed 2 classes and about to start my 3rd Wilton class. I was recently asked to do a groom's cake, here's the tricky...she asked if I could make the roses out of tootsie rolls. Is there such a thing and can someone send me instructions if there is?

I have never even heard about it until this post but I found a few threads on making them. Good luck! I think I may have to try this one out!

Great tutorial Frankyola! Thanks for finding it! These are beautiful! I was thinking you could do the same thing with chocolate MMF because it tastes just like Tootsie rolls. Just add to add gumpaste to it!

You sure can make them out of tootsie rolls. I've have some in my photos. You can make them out of starburst candies and bubble gum the same way. This Christmas I made pine cones using the Tootsie Rolls and the same idea as the roses.

We did the tootsie rolls in our wilton class a few years back...pretty much all you do is roll a small ball of tootsie roll, then flatten it into a circle like a petal...almost the same as you would for fondant. To make the center, roll the first petal on an angle...then wrap the other petals around it..........Hope that helps....this is the same as the tutorial Frankyola found....
