How Do I Get A Firmer Cake?

I have a great chocolate recipe that I use, but would like it to be just a little firmer. Do I add extra eggs? What can I do to keep it from falling apart. It's a very fluffy cake and not great for carving or stacking.

Add 1/2 cup sour cream. OR try using buttermilk. An extra egg IMHO doesn't go much.
