This is the cake topper for the cake I'm making for my brother's baby shower. Their nursery theme was monkeys so I HAD to make one for as the topper!!

I've never done a fondant figure before but for a beginner I think I did okay.. I love him!!!

Tell me what you think....good and bad icon_biggrin.gif

thats adorable SweetPea0613 !! he looks great! i just did a baby shower cake last weekend that was to have a monkey on top of the cake and i was freaking out wondering how i was going to make him. well ended up she wanted a monkey to match the monkey on a baby bib. so a made a flat fondant monkey on top of the cake that matched the bib, which was a monkey hanging from a vine with his tail. then made another one for the side of the cake standing right side up holding a baby bottle with his tail. (haven't posted the pic yet though.)alot easier than making a 3-D monkey. you did a wonderful job on yours!

Like PP said, you are a natural. My first 3d sculpting was little babies and they looked more like pigs than babies. We can definitely tell yours is a cute little monkey!
