Any suggestions for how I can reduce static when I'm sifting dry ingredients?

That's interesting. What do you use to sift a hand one or an open strainer?

I never had this problem until this weekend. I was sifting my powdered sugar and there was a lot of static. I use the sifter with like a rolling handle(sorry can't describe it)

Yep, it's probably because the humidity in your area (home) is super low. Try putting a kettle of water on the stove to help moisten the air.

Thanks for your replies, I'll try the kettle idea!
