I have this pan and have used it several times. the first time I used the recipe included on the packaging, because the William Sonoma recipes I have tried in the past have been excellent. The cake did not rise above the pan enough to make it fit together perfectly, so instead of the sugar coating they suggest, I used chocolate buttercream and a star tip and covered the bear, put a blue ribbon around his neck and he was both adorable and delicious. The next time I made extra cake batter to make sure it rose above the pan so it would fit together.
These cakes are a hit at showers and sometimes they don't want to cut them up because they are so cute.

This cake pan is made by Nordicware. I have several of their pans and they preform extremely well.
