I believe the title says it all. lol
Well, how yall doin. I am new to this, extremely new. I saw some of the specialty cakes on ace of cakes a some months ago. I have always loved cooking and though of taking up culinary but I prefer to keep it for fun. Any ways. When I saw my first episode of ace of cakes I fell in love with the style. I know pretty much nothing when it comes to it though. I attempted a 3-D cake for a friends birthday, of a girls head with a knife sticking out with her name written in the blood. I know that sounds a lil gory, but we are currently special fx students and love horror movies. Well the cake turned out not too bad for my first try and with no knowledge of how to do it. Now to the point I would like to learn how to do it, i just today in fact learned about marzipan for the icing. I suppose I am looking for some general knowledge to start with on decorating, terms, items that are used. Including airbrushing, i do airbrush and am looking forward to working with that as well. Pretty much that basics as is. I am broke at the moment, I graduate school at the end of the month and will be moving back home well I will, hopefully, be able to start cooking real food again. Sorry for such a long post. Any information yall can provide would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to sharing what I come up with and to see what yall have to show.
