My son wants a chocolate cake for his 7th birthday, so I decided on a chocolate cake with a turtle filling, a chocolate ganache filling, or cookies and cream filling.

The part I'm not sure of is the frosting. I need to be able to color it and I don't think chocolate frosting would become a good navy blue.

Would it taste funny with a regular vanilla BC or an Almond BC? Any other ideas are welcome also.

TIA
Nikki

Well if you want a colored chocolate cake the way to go would be have the actual cake baked chocolate, with the turtle filling and then frost with a colored vanilla bc. Or you can frost it in chocolate and then do a frozen bc transfer of whatever design you are wanting to put on top and decorate with colorful borders etc. Good luck!
