How Do You Tell What Size A Cookie Cutter Is?

I've updated my cake pan inventory list on the computer. Decided I needed to do the same thing for my cookie cutters. You know how it is, you get in the local shop & can't remember if you already have that cutter or not. lol Naturally several of the ones I have are different sizes. So what's the standard for sizing them? Is it by how tall they are or by how wide?

I got to studying a couple of boxes some of my Wilton cutters came in. Seems the measurement is whichever way is bigger. Thanks.

It generally is measured length by width. Width is usually the measurement that you see most often. I have a couple hundred cookie cutters and I use the width as a standard measurement. Hope this helps!!! icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif
