Can I buy pre-made modeling chocolate, or is it best to make your own? I've tried a couple recipies, and wasn't real thrilled with them.

When you make your own, you have to be very careful not to overheat the chocolate, or the fat will separate and harden into clumps in your modelling chocolate. Purchased MC won't give you that problem. I do soften it in the microwave just for a few (10 to 15) seconds, then knead it for a while. It's great to work with.
