Does anyone know how I find out the legal implications of me baking and selling cakes out of my own kitchen in my state? I am currently looking for a job in my field, but am not having any luck. Several people have asked, after seeing cakes I made as gifts or donations, if I am available for hire. Up until now, my answer has been no, but if I can't find a job...

TIA

I'm in Maryland and I called my state's Health Department and they were able to tell me the laws that govern these things. You should be able to do the same in your state.

Look in the cake decorating business forum. There's lots of information on this topc. You might also want to try a shearch.
