Hi CCers Happy New Year! I have a cake request for a "Rock of Ages Cake" 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000. Here is my dilema. I am doing a Jukebox for the 60s. A disco ball for the 70s. A stack of cds for the 90s. and an I-pod for the 2000. But I am stumped for the 80s. Any ideas?

I have an 80's cake in my pics, it has all kinda stuff on it, maybe you can get an idea from it, good luck, that sounds like lots of fun.

I agree with Melody25... the boom box is a great idea. Of course, we called them "ghetto blasters". LOL

What about a figurine with long hair and a guitar? Back then, the hair bands were the most popular!

What do you mean "back then"? Give me Sebastian Bach, Kip Winger, and Jon Bon Jovi with spandex and long hair any day over anyone who plays now! thumbs_up.gif

Boom Box is a great idea-that or a can of Aqua Net! Ozone layer beware!

Don't forget head bands (like Madonna and Olivia Newton John wore), wide necked T-shirts hanging off the shoulder, big hair and androgyny Boy George).

I forgot to mention they will be stacked. I love the big hair headband idea. But I think that one is out.

Or a figure with leg warmers. Gotta love the leg warmers and everyone carried a comb in their back pockets for their feathered hair. Not me, mind you, but some people!

{sigh} Ah, I miss the 80's! Wait, I'm still living them, what am I talking about! It would be neat to do a take on the Ah Ha song "Take on Me" and do the black and white comic strip video with the cops and the number 13 on the helmets. I think that is what it was, I forget. Also something like a sequin glove like Michael Jackson had would be neat. There were so many different things going on in the 80's. You could put a vegamite sandwich on it, too, but I doubt anyone would get that one. Maybe have a can of Coke and Pepsi with boxing gloves on battling it out. Big rage in the 80's.

Good luck, it sounds like a fun idea to do, all the different themes!
