Does it dry? I've never worked with it before and I found a recipe for Rolled Buttercream Fondant and I wanted to try it for my son's birthday cake. I made some today and made some leaves (doing a jungle theme) and they are still really pliable and they bend easy. So how long will it take for them to harden up so I can make a tree?

It usually takes a day or longer depending how thick like if you are making animals verses cutouts. You can use half gumpaste half fondant it will dry in a few hours depending on thickness. Or if you use pure gumpaste it will dry even faster. Hope this helps.

There is no difference in working w/gumpaste vs fondant except maybe the gp can be rolled thinner & will dry faster.
I think you problem is using the rolled b'cream recipe.
