I tried to do a baseball for the first time this weekend - I was less than successful! Could anybody give me advice on how to cover a ball shaped cake in fondant - or is doing it in bc better? Also, how the heck would you get it to stand up on the cake? The cake ended up with at half a ball on it - hehe! Thanks in advance!

I use butttercream when I do 3-D cakes - it tastes better and is easier to use. You could have used a dowel stuck through the iced ball ~ that's what I do, it works every time.
